Are there any additional fees?
Our rental fee includes everything – including shipping both ways. However there are circumstances in which additional fees will be incurred. They include but are not limited to:
- Not all products are returned with your rental. This includes all foam and protection material included in your shipment, power cables, bags and remotes.
- The original box has been lost and a new box is used to return your rental. There is an additional fee in this situation because the replacement box will always be bigger and incur additional shipping expenses. These additional shipping expenses will be passed onto you.
- Lights are returned damaged, wet, or in any shape other than the way they left the warehouse.
- You do not use the return label when dropping off the package(s) at UPS. This will result in your package being delivered to you again. In this case you will be responsible for the shipping cost to return the package to American Party Lights.
How does free shipping work?
We ship your rental to you free of charge, it will arrive at least 2 days prior to your event. When you are done with your rental simply drop off the package at any UPS location using the pre-paid UPS shipping label. Please note: If you’d like to schedule a UPS pickup at your home or business location an additional fee will be charged to your rental. For last-minute. reservations requiring expedited shipping an additional charge will be charged. We will always approve this charge with you prior to proceeding with your reservation.
How/When do I pay the balance of my reservation?
Your balance is due 2 weeks prior to your reservation. You will receive an email reminder at that time with instructions for logging into your account to make payment. If you would like to pay your balance at any point before this please contact us.
Do I need to pay for shipping when returning the lights?
No. We include a pre-paid return label with your rental. Simply place the return label over the label on the box and drop off the box at your nearest UPS location.
Colors for Uplights
You can customize the color of your LED uplights with the simple press of a button – No color gels required. You can also set the uplight to automatically rotate between colors or create a musical light show with sound activation. Instructions are included with your rental and no previous experience is required – It’s so easy! To get an idea of the colors available with our uplights check out our color chart.

Let us pre-set the color for you. Simply let us know what color or shade you need & we will pre-set the lights for you to save you time. *Please note: If the surface you’re projecting onto isn’t white, the color of the light may look different.

Why is there a range in power consumption?
The power needed to light your outdoor uplight is dependent on the color you set your light to. Our standard uplights are RGB (which stands for Red, Green, Blue). Each color has a range, think of it like a dimmer. The max draw for each color is 8 watts. So for example if you turned your light on 100% Red and turned off Green, and Blue the light would draw 8 watts. If you don’t want the red so bright and turned it down to 50% then your power draw would be 4 watts. If you want a pink color you could max out Red and Blue for a total draw of 16 watts. If you maxed out Red, Green, and Blue you would draw 24 watts.
